So i have just downloaded this game and the downloadable version is v4. and then i did the manual patch thing where i'll get v5.1. now my question is why does is still download updates even after that? did i do something wrong?

Problem/Question regarding new installation

No you didn't do anything wrong, the current latest version right now is 5.03. Which means it will ask you to update.

so i use the client to update then. after that i'll be able to run the game through the client ( i hope. )?

You should download the latest manual update, then update the game through ExDr_Patcher if there are any. ExDr_Patcher will restart everytime it's completed an update, if there are more of them it will do 1 after 1
